US M1 Carbine Folding Stock

A genuine piece of late Cold War history, this US M1 Carbine folding stock was pulled from Israeli Military Police service rifles. Manufactured in Arkansas by Choate Machine & Tool and issued to Israeli forces in the 1980s, the stock turns the venerable .30 Caliber M1 Carbine into a far more compact, transport-friendly platform — exactly the kind of authentic, hard-to-find surplus part that M1 collectors, restorers, and shooters actively hunt for.

What It Is

This is a complete side-folding synthetic stock assembly for the GI-pattern US M1 Carbine (.30 M1). The pistol grip, forend, and folding skeleton buttstock are all molded in tough black polymer, with a steel hinge and locking mechanism. The forend retains the classic M1 barrel band cut and ventilated handguard channel, while the buttstock folds cleanly to the left side of the receiver to dramatically shorten the rifle's overall length for vehicle, paratrooper, or police use.

Authentic Israeli Surplus Provenance

These stocks were originally fitted to Israeli Military Police M1 Carbines during the 1980s and have since been pulled from service. Each piece shows honest use — handling marks, scuffs, unit numbers, and storage wear — which is exactly what surplus collectors and reenactors want. No two are identical, and every stock carries its own service story.
