Thunderhead Outfitters is an online store based in Dayton, OH that specializes in military surplus deals and high quality tactical and camping gear.  Our goal is to provide you with high quality, genuine US Military surplus gear at low prices.  In addition to surplus we also stock new manufacture military, tactical, and camping gear from our own carefully chosen suppliers in order to offer the highest quality merchandise at affordable prices.

Founded by three Eagle Scouts and outdoor enthusiasts, we know what makes great gear and how to provide it to you at affordable prices.

We take the time to inspect, assemble, and grade every piece of military surplus gear we receive, which is no small task!  On all of our product pages for our surplus gear you will see different quality ratings, and you can believe them!  We provide fair and honest descriptions of all our surplus items so you know what you'll be receiving before you even place your order!

In the summer of 2016 we opened our retail showroom in Centerville, OH. All of our products are on display in the showroom for potential retail and wholesale customers to browse, as well as for picking up orders that were placed here on our website.
