Shipping & Returns

Shipping Information

We strive to to get your order to your door as soon as we can!  Most orders shipping within the United States are shipped promptly within 1 business day.  We do not ship on US holidays or weekends.  We will ship your order using either USPS, FedEx, or UPS.  Some orders shipped internationally, to PO Boxes, or to California may require additional processing time before shipping.

For military personnel, we also offer fast shipping to any APO/FPO address.  Just be sure to select USPS as your shipping method and correctly enter the full APO/FPO address.

We do offer shipping to many countries around the globe via USPS International Mail.  Most international orders will ship within 1-5 business days.  Please be aware of any duties or other regulations that may apply to shipments being imported into your country, and that you may be charged additional fees by your government.  Thunderhead Outfitters is not responsible for any law, regulation, or trade restriction in other countries regarding its products and/or products sold by Thunderhead Outfitters.

Out of Stock Items

If you order an item that is not in stock, or you order more of an item than we have in stock, we will contact you by email to let you know what items in your order are in stock, and the estimated date the remaining items will be back in stock.  At that time you will have the option to decide if you want to cancel or revise your order, or wait until we have more in stock.


We offer a 30 day return policy on almost all products in our store.  Any product that cannot be returned will have a disclaimer on its product details page.  Items must be returned in their original condition and with all pieces to be eligible for a refund.  New items must be returned unused, unwashed, and with the original product tags still attached.  Surplus or used items must be returned in the same condition as it was when shipped to you.

Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer, and any shipping charges paid with the original order will not be refunded.  Exceptions to this are evaluated on a case-by-case basis and are usually in circumstances where the wrong item was sent to you, or if the items condition is not as described.  If we screwed up your order, we will replace, exchange, or have you return it to us at no additional cost to you.

For international orders, returns are generally not cost-effective fro you due to the high shipping costs associated with exchanging or returning a product.  In the event an item received is defective we will work with you to replace the item or make it right for you.

If you need to return an item to us you must initiate a return request from your Order History page, or by calling or emailing us prior to sending the return back to us.

Do not return any item to us without contacting us first to receive a return authorization and return shipping instructions.

We will not issue a refund for a package that is lost or damaged during return shipping.

Return Fees.  We generally do not charge any return processing or restocking fees for most returns.  We reserve the right to charge a return fee (or deduction from your return amount) in certain situations evaluated on a per case basis including but not limited to: if you return an item that is missing its tags or is in used/worse condition, if you used an unauthorized return shipping method that cost more than was allowed, or any situation where fees are charged to us as a result of your actions.

Products Available "On Display to Order"

Many of our products come in a wide range of variations, for example size and color combinations.  In some cases we do not offer every single size or color combination in our local store, but that doesn't mean you are not able to order the exact variation you are looking for.  If you are near our store, you can come in and see the product in person, and then decide you want to order the variation you need from us.  You can also see photos of each variation on our website.  You can place an order for the exact variation of the item you're looking for, either in store or right here on our website.

There are no additional fees or charges for ordering a variation of an item we do not have in our warehouse.  You simply add the item to your cart, and you will see the calculated shipping cost in your shopping cart, which should be no different than any other item you order from us.

Any product that we have on display to order will be shipped out to you within 1-2 business days of receiving your order.  If an item is not available either from our warehouse or from the manufacturer, it will not be advertised as on display to order and instead show as out of stock.
