MOLLE Medium Rucksack (ACU Digital)

This is a genuine US military surplus MOLLE II Medium Rucksack in the ACU Digital camouflage pattern.  The Medium Rucksack was designed to fill a gap between the Assault Pack, which was often too small, and the Large Rucksack, which was often too large for 2-3 day missions.

The Medium Rucksack has numerous internal and external compartments, allowing you to organize your gear.  There are two large external zippered compartments on the front of the pack that each have pockets inside as well as a plastic D-ring hook.  There is a large internal pocket along back of pack to support a hydration system. The main compartment has a harness assembly to support the Advanced System Improvement Program (ASIP) Radio. There are two internal pockets sized for 60mm mortar rounds.

The Medium Rucksack has a top carrying handle with two side release attachment straps which allow you attach additional equipment externally to the pack. There are three hook-and-loop ports designed to allow you to route hydration tubes, antennas, etc. from inside the main compartment. There is also an abundance of MOLLE/PALS webbing on the outside of the pack for attaching additional pouches, such as the sustainment pouches on the sides of the pack, for expanded storage volume.

The molded frame is contoured to fit the shape of the back and allow the user to wear the rear ballistic plate of standard body armor without discomfort.

Quality Guide

Many of these rucksacks show signs of a defect due to the design of the pack and frame, and this is outlined below in this quality guide.  The waist belt of this pack attaches directly to the plastic frame via four loops of nylon webbing, two on the left side and two on the right side.  Over time and with heavy use in the US Army, one attachment strap on each side will wear out and fray.  Now, this is not critical to have all four straps attaching the waist belt; it will still work with only two straps but it will not be quite as snug of a hold onto the pack frame.  These straps can be fixed with some sewing, or the whole waist belt could be removed and replaced.

• Very Good - These packs will be in great shape overall but will show some minor signs of use.  The waist belt attachment straps will show little signs of fraying, but will still hold strong.  All other pieces are also fully functional.
• Acceptable - These packs are also in great shape overall, however the waist belt attachment straps are moderately frayed through on these packs.  The frayed straps are still attached, but they may not last a long time.
• Damaged - These packs are in good shape overall, but two of the four waist belt attachment straps will be frayed completely through, leaving only two straps attaching the waist belt to the pack.
