ILBE Lid

This lid (or dust cover) is a component of the Improved Load Bearing Equipment (ILBE) system and was designed to protect all of the gear kept inside the back.  Buckles secure it to the main pack.  It has a zippered pouch and MOLLE webbing on the top.

There are different versions of this lid that match up to the different generations and versions of the main pack, listed below.  You can view each different type of lid by clicking through the product images.

• Gen 1 with webbing - This is the lid for the Gen 1 main pack.  It has black buckles and extra MOLLE webbing on the bottom of the lid.
• Gen 2 with webbing - This lid is for the Gen 2 main pack.  It has tan buckles and extra MOLLE webbing on the bottom of the lid.
• Gen 2 - This lid is for the Gen 2 main pack.  It has tan buckles.

You must match up the correct generation of main pack to the lid otherwise it will not attach. 

If your main pack has black trim and black buckles, you need the Gen 1 lid.  There are two different versions of the generation 2 main pack, however, and those lids are interchangeable.  If you want to have the correct lid for the pack, the "Gen 2 with webbing" lid is meant to attach to the Gen 2 main pack that has the strap and fastener attachment for the radio pouch.  The "Gen 2" lid is meant to attach to the Gen 2 main pack that has buckles for the radio pouch attachment.

Item Condition

These lids are US military surplus equipment that has been previously issued.  Overall the lids are in very good condition.  They may be slightly faded, have a little tape residue on them, but there are no rips or holes and the zipper and buckles work great.
